How do I book a home service professional on GeraHome?↓
Search for the service you need (e.g. plumber, cleaner, electrician), choose a professional based on ratings and reviews, select a date and time, and confirm your booking. You'll receive an instant confirmation and the professional's contact details.
Are all service providers ID-verified?↓
Yes. Every professional on GeraHome submits identity documents that are reviewed by the Gera operations team before approval. Where local law requires it, the provider must also hold a current criminal record check from their own jurisdiction (e.g. DBS in the UK, Cazier judiciar in Romania) — these are checked at onboarding. We also collect ongoing customer reviews to maintain quality standards. Real third-party KYC/BG vendor integration (Checkr / Onfido) is on the roadmap for 2027.
How is pricing determined?↓
Service providers set their own hourly or fixed rates, which are shown upfront before you book. For complex jobs, you can request a free quote. There are no hidden platform fees for customers — the price you see is the price you pay.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?↓
You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before the appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a small cancellation fee depending on the professional's policy, which is shown on their profile before you book.
Is there a service guarantee if something goes wrong?↓
Yes. GeraHome offers a 72-hour service guarantee. If the work is unsatisfactory, we'll arrange a free re-do or a refund. All bookings are covered by our platform guarantee — you only pay when you're satisfied.
How and when do I pay?↓
Payment is processed securely through the platform after the job is completed and you confirm satisfaction. We support credit/debit cards, GeraCash wallet, and local payment methods by country. Funds are only released to the professional once you approve the work.
Can I request the same professional again?↓
Yes. You can save favourite professionals to your account and book them directly. Many customers build long-term relationships with their regular cleaner, gardener, or handyman through GeraHome.
How do I become a service provider on GeraHome?↓
Create a professional account, complete identity and license verification, set your services and pricing, and start accepting bookings. GeraHome charges a small commission only when you complete a job — no upfront fees.
Is GeraHome available in my country?↓
GeraHome operates globally with a focus on markets where home services are underserved, including Armenia, Georgia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and throughout Europe. If your country isn't listed, join the waitlist and we'll notify you at launch.
What are GeraCoins and how do I earn them on GeraHome?↓
GeraCoins are Gera's loyalty currency. Earn coins for completing your first booking, leaving reviews, and referring friends. Redeem them for discounts on future GeraHome bookings or across other Gera services like GeraClinic or GeraEats.
How much does a typical GeraHome booking cost?↓
Pricing is set by the individual professional. As a reference: cleaners average £15–£30/hour, plumbers £45–£85/hour, electricians £50–£95/hour, gardeners £18–£35/hour. You always see the full quote upfront before confirming — there are no hidden GeraHome platform fees for customers.
Is there a free tier or trial?↓
GeraHome is free for customers to browse, message professionals, and request quotes. You only pay when you confirm a booking. There is no subscription. Gera Prime members get priority scheduling and 5% cashback in GeraCoins on every booking.
Do you charge a cancellation fee?↓
Cancellations more than 24 hours before the appointment are always free. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee set by the individual professional (typically 20–50% of the booking), shown on their profile before you book. Weather-related cancellations initiated by the professional are always free to you.
How do I sign up?↓
Sign up in under a minute with email + password. Add your address (or addresses) so we can match you with nearby professionals. Payment method is only required at the moment of first booking, not at signup.
Do I need to verify my identity as a customer?↓
For standard bookings, no verification is required. For bookings above £500 or when providing property keys/access, we require one-time ID verification for safety. This protects professionals from fake bookings and property-related fraud.
What happens after I book a professional?↓
You receive an instant confirmation with the professional's profile, ETA, and a secure in-app chat. You can message the professional directly, share access instructions, or reschedule. They arrive at the booked time; you confirm the work is complete; payment is released.
What data does GeraHome collect?↓
Account basics (name, email, phone), service addresses, booking history, messages with professionals, and payment records. Optional data: photos you attach to job descriptions, and access instructions you share. We do not sell data to third parties.
Where is my data stored?↓
Data is stored encrypted on EU infrastructure (primary region Frankfurt) with daily backups. Session logs are retained 30 days. Booking history is retained for 7 years for tax and dispute purposes, then anonymised.
How do I delete my account?↓
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. We soft-delete immediately and hard-delete all personal data within 30 days, except anonymised booking records kept for accounting law compliance.
Is GeraHome GDPR compliant?↓
Yes. Full GDPR compliance with a DPO, transparent lawful bases, and support for subject access, rectification, erasure, and portability requests. Requests to privacy@gerahome.com are handled within 30 days.
Do you sell my data?↓
No. We do not sell customer data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Revenue comes only from our commission on completed jobs.
What is the refund policy?↓
If a job is not completed as booked, you are covered by our 72-hour service guarantee — free re-do or full refund. For partial-quality issues, our Trust & Safety team mediates and typically resolves within 48 hours.
How are disputes between customers and professionals resolved?↓
Start by using in-app chat — most issues resolve directly. If not, open a formal dispute: a Trust & Safety mediator reviews evidence from both sides (photos, messages, booking details) and rules within 5 business days. Rulings can include refund, re-do, or split resolution.
Which languages does GeraHome support?↓
Platform UI in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Turkish, Armenian, Russian, Swahili, and more. Professionals list the languages they speak on their profile so you can book someone you can communicate with comfortably.
Do you support my local currency?↓
Yes. GeraHome operates in 50+ countries with local currency display and local payment methods including Idram, M-Pesa, UPI, PIX, iDEAL, Alipay, and major cards. Settlements to professionals are in their chosen currency.
Does GeraHome have an API?↓
Yes — a partner API is available for property managers, real estate platforms, and home insurance companies that want to offer GeraHome bookings to their users. Developer documentation at /developers. AI agents can book via our MCP server with scoped user consent.
Is GeraHome secure?↓
TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, continuous automated OWASP Top 10 scanning, external penetration tests twice a year. Professionals are ID-verified by certified third-party verification partners.
Do you support two-factor authentication (2FA)?↓
Yes — TOTP apps (Google Authenticator, Authy), WebAuthn hardware keys, and SMS backup. 2FA is mandatory for professional accounts and optional (but recommended) for customers. Enable under Settings → Security.
How do you prevent fraud?↓
Identity + license verification on every professional, real-time risk scoring on bookings, photo evidence on completion, and payment held in escrow until you confirm the job. Repeat fraudulent behaviour (from either side) leads to permanent account termination.
How does GeraHome work with other Gera products?↓
One Gera account across all products. A GeraClinic doctor can refer home-care needs directly to GeraHome. GeraRent landlords can schedule maintenance. GeraMarket bulk suppliers ship tools to professionals at discounted rates. Full ecosystem guide at gera.services.
Can I use my GeraCoins to pay?↓
Yes. Apply GeraCoins at checkout — 100 coins = £1 off — earned from any Gera service. Coins never expire while your account is active.
Is Gera Prime required to use GeraHome?↓
