This dataset is available as machine-readable JSON — including provenance, columns, key figures and a verbatim sample of rows — and as a spreadsheet-ready CSV sample, for researchers, journalists and AI assistants. Every figure traces to the source below.

Methodology

Prices are taken verbatim from the EIA Electric Power Monthly Table 5.6.A (average price of electricity to ultimate customers, residential sector) for the reference month. Values are cents per kWh exactly as published; nothing is re-weighted, annualised or estimated.

How this snapshot is prepared & verified

  1. Source. Retrieved from U.S. Energy Information Administration — Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.6.A (U.S. Energy Information Administration), the official publisher, under the US Government public domain. Reference period: April 2026.
  2. Verbatim capture. Every figure shown here is copied from, or computed directly from, that snapshot — nothing is estimated, rounded away or hand-entered.
  3. Verification. Column values are checked against the published source before release, and the licence and attribution are preserved exactly as issued.
  4. Re-publication. The snapshot is exposed as a citable page plus JSON and CSV downloads so it stays independently verifiable and quotable.

The JSON summary and CSV export contain a verbatim sample of the snapshot with full provenance. The complete dataset is available from the original source linked above.
